2. Does it sound better? Well you'll have to be the judge. Personally I think that HDCD, SACD, DVD-A all that sh!t sound virtually identical and none of them offer a improvement over normal CDs that is indicative by their cost. |

Oct 8, 2001 9:00 AM | | To my knowledge, and this might be a lack of knowledge, one needed an HDCD player not a HDCD receiver. According to the Q/A link you sent me to it appears I was incorrect. An amplifier or receiver could contain a HDCD chip that allows you take a normal CD player and hook it up to the receiver.
It does appear that the typical method is taking a HDCD CD player in conjunction with a receiever.
I apologize for my lack of knowledge. Additionally I still think these formats are worthless in terms of what you get vs what you pay for, but again my .02. |
