So is the light (L.E.D.) not working or the receiver does not decode DTS at all. Give us some more info to work with.

Did you select the DTS track in the DVD options? DVD default to Dolby Digial, not DTS. So if you didn't, you wouldn't be sending the DTS signal, it would be DD. Just might wanna check.

You also might need to set up the Toshiba to pass the DTS signal. Has it ever worked before? Have you changed anything recently? Have you tried another digital input into your receiver?

You have gotten you answer in pieces, in short to playback in DTS you must
1) Have a DTS reciever
2) Go into the Set up of the DVD player to set the digital output format for DTS
3) Before starting the movie goint the movie audio options and select DTS - DTS will never be the default.

James,

Not disagreeing with anything the others have said, except to clarify one point --- there is no specific "DTS" setting on the 3109. The audio output should be set to "bitstream" which is correct for either DD or DTS. Just wanted to clear this up so that you don't have the added confussion of searching for some audio setting which doesn't exist on your DVD player. As others have already pointed out, you will need to go into the menuing of the DVD disc and select DTS as your audio format.

I would venture a guess that the problem lies with your receiver settings. You probably have an "audio input select" settings that needs to be set for DTS or to an "auto" setting, which would detect which format is being used and automatically switch modes for proper decoding: It may be worth your time to pull out the manual for your receiver and check for these settings. You mention that "...ALL CONNECTIONS ARE CORRECT", but just to cover all the bases, exactly HOW do you have the DVD player connected to the receiver? Digital coax, optical, 6 channel discrete, analog RCA...?

Get back to us with some more information if you can. I'm sure someone will be able to help you solve the problem. Best of luck.
