|   Need Sound Advice!!!!!! Energy 5.2 or Paradigm Speakers | Hats
Nov 29, 2001 3:13 PM | | I am in the process of building a home theater. I have a Denon AVR 2801 Receiver and Velodyne CT-100 Sub. Its time to get surround speakers. I am going with either the new Energy 5.2 set up or will go with Paradigm Mini Monitors for mains, Atom's for rears and CC-370 Center chanel.Which set up is better? Appreciate some help

All the mags have nothing but good things to say about the amazing sound these puppys put out. Now the Paradigms that you mentioned are also another amazing speaker but I think they will play music better than the Energy's. You didn't mention if you were going to use a subwoofer, you would definitly need one with the Energys. The Paradigm's can produce satifacory amount of bass for a speaker of there size but you should still add a sub. Cost wise I think that you will be spending almost double for the Paradigm's but if thats not an issue I would go for the Paradigm's. If there is a wife factor involved go with the Energy's they are very wife friendly(I think you know what I mean). |

The black gloss finish on the Take five Series, in addition to the unobtrusive speaker stands, make them both asthetically and finacially pleasing to my wife anyway. The sound is great and I matched mine with the Energy es:xl 10" subwoofer, and it sounds great for both movies and music. I personally have not listened to the Paradigms, but I can vouch for the quality and value of the Energy's, good luck! |

I've put together 3 systems for family and friends that have started with this set-up and had no reservations recommending this set-up... nor have I had any complaints! (I've used the PS-1200 and PW-2200 subs as well). But, you should listen for youself... I've never heard the Energy systems since they are/were not readily available in my area...
