ISF Technicians in Ohioalfbinet

OK, I bit the bullet and bought a HDTV Ready TV - Sony KP51HW40. Nice price and great picture with progressive scan DVD's and satellite. Very pleased with the purchase. Calibrated with Avia disk...to the best of my ability (using the controls in video setup) but would not mind for pro calibration. Checked the ISF site for Ohio (I am in Cleveland). ISF only lists dealerships with ISF techs...and not many in the Cleveland area. Anyone knows of ISF techs in the area that are not affiliated with a High End store. You call the store and they won't send anyone out unless you bought the set from their store. Don't have a problem with that-after all they are in business.

Anyone know of a person with a side business in the Northeast Ohio area? I have also posted in General Forum

i've run into the same problem in my area and had considered taking the training but after seeing the cost of the test equipment i had to back out. i ended up calling one of the "High End" shops; but i think the cost of the gear has keep the side business guys away

I think that is what I will have to do. A friend told me not to expect to much if I didn't buy the set from the shop tho. When you called did they calibrate the set for you even tho you didn't buy it from them? Just curious. Actually the Sony didn't really need that much tweaking with the Avia disk and the picture looks fantastic but still would like to get the color adjusted professionally. Thanks for responding.

Dr. Thanks for the tip but I was too late. The topic was closed. Was it similar to the one with the guy who is a traveling tech and goes to different states and does calibrations for groups of people?

Again thanks for trying to help!

Hello, I just bought the 51HW40, I am very pleased with the DVD picture and the XBOX picture, I am not to pleased with the Cable Boradcast picture I am getting(I even have digital cable). Could you direct me to where I can get the Calibration disk you spoke about.

THanks,
Joe
