Home made accoustic panelsndea

How do I make my own accoustic panels? I am having a dedicated room built in my new home to house a HT and I am looking to save a few dollars by making my own panels. I rather use the money I save on other things within the theater. Any help is welcomed.

Bob, I guess the real question is, how can I make home made acoustic panels that look like the real thing? For example, fabric covered, beveled edges and large sizes (4'x6'). Also how would I mount the panels to the wall.

ok use 1 by 3 strapping nailed to the wall 16 inches on center on the panels i have seen the same product in 4 by 12 sheets i think they use them on mobile home ceilings you could screw them to the strapping or use nails and cover the screw or nail holes with spackle as far as the fabric thats up to you oh buy yhe way you can cut those panels with a utility knife and some sort of straigt edge
