| Toshiba 3750 vs. Panny RP56 DVD Players for 47WX49 HDTV? | Tapp Feb 23, 2002 7:07 PM | | I finally made the jump to RPHDTV and I've just purchased the Panasonic 47WX49 16:9 HDTV and was wondering opinions on which Progr. DVD player (Tosh 3750, Panny RP56) would be the best match.
From what I've read the Sage chipset in the RP56 is preferred and the chroma bug is lessened. Yet, the Toshiba has a nicer scaling feature for 2:35:1 and 4:3 aspect ratios. Most of my DVD collection is 2:35:1.
Can the scaling features in the 47WX49 be used with the RP56 in Progressive mode, or does the TV lock into a specific mode?
Sorry; I have not taken delivery of the TV so I have not studied the manual.
thanks for any comments, opinions, etc....
