hiss in speakerstyper316
May 4, 2002 2:59 PM
Ok i've got a denon 3801 with paradigm monitor 7 v.1 for fronts and the cc-370 for center. When I put my ears to the tweeter I notice a tiny little hiss on the fronts, but when I put my ears to the 370 it's perfectly quiet. It's not noticable but just a little dissapointing. Do you guys think its the speakers or something else?? I'm using some cheap monster cables that are prolly 25 feet long and the center is only a couple of feet long. you guys think that the cables could be the culprit??

Can't really give much detail, but with the Denon this appears to be mentioned often. With my 3802 it happens, but at such a high volume that it never factors into my listening. It also doesn't seem to be as bad (or even there at all) on direct and stereo modes.

I am surprised that it is speaker dependent in your setup - it is not in mine.
The culprit is not your wire.Mr Mono

The hiss noise probably do originate from one your Receiver's digital circuitry (probably DSP). If it is not noticable when source is playing, then I wouldn't worry wabout it.
