May 6, 2002 10:26 AM | | Progressive scan DVD players only work in progressive scan if the tv can accept the 480p signal. HDTVs and EDTVs both accept 480p. The regualr analog (NTSC) televisions do not accept 480p. HD capable tvs (hd ready tvs, HDTV monitors..are all the same thing...no internal tuner) can accept the 480p.
The picture is not like night and day difference. It does look smoother like a computer monitor which is done in progressive scan. |
