Consider models from Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, and Onkyo in your price range. In my opinion, I'd go with a Denon or Marantz, just personal preference from wonderful experiences with both brands.

H/K has been known to have some quality control issues in the past and has lost face in the audio world, but they look like nice recievers and i bet they could probably perform, assuming they have made some improvements in their products.

I would not really consider Pioneer, Sony and Kenwood to be in the same league, again, personal preferences from experience.

I'd go for either the HK, Denon, Marantz, or Onkyo. The Denon stands out due to its LCR preouts but the Marantz should be more musical and have a better remote. If you do not need or want the LCR preouts, then get the Marantz or Onkyo TX-SR600. Don't care for HK due to their QC issues in the past though that may have been resolved by now.
I also found Marantz as most musicalmidfiman

Denon IMO. Not sure why it's there but Pioneer should certainly not be in the same class. H/K seems to have improved their line-up but I'm rather put-off by their low output when compared to similar priced Denon, Yammie or Marantz receivers. I have heard their new line and they do sound pretty good but I'd still give the nod to Denon for both music and HT. Of course, it's all up to you, your ears and your wallet!

He says go with Denon(LOL). But, as he said, I'd definitely take a look at some Yammys and Marantz too for musical abilities of the receiver.
somehow I knew you would second the denon nick...NTOld_lane

You guys are right, but I think Marantz 5200 need a tv or screen to set up. I probably don't have a screen in my room, so i think i will pick Denon 1802. About HK, after hearing some problem with QC, i will forget about HK, About some of you suggest Yamaha, I personally think that yammie is only good for movie, not too much of music. And Onkyo 600, I think it is not bad to consider…
(Onkyo 600 and Denon 1802, which is better?)
Any suggestions OR comments?

I've little experience with the Onkyo 600 yet but it sure looks like a sweet receiver for the $'s with a nicer remote (something Onkyo has always done better than Denon). I'd give both a whirl and see which one impresses you the most. Both will give you great bang-for-the-buck and both should give you great HT performance and reliability.

Good luck...
