May 9, 2002 11:11 AM | | I have a sony STR DE715 reciever that is 5.1 compatible. I just purchased a Sony 5 disc DVD player that is not equiped with 5.1 output it has Digitai Optical Output. The 715 does not have Digital Optical Input. Is there any way for me to enjoy surround sound with these components ?. |

May 9, 2002 11:25 AM | | It sounds to me that you need a Dolby 5.1 decoder since it sounds like your Sony doesn't have one. Your probably better off upgrading to a newer receiver.
