Best HDTV Ready <= 36"Tyler_Huntsville

Due to Entertainment Center constraints I am forced to get a regular (non widescreen) TV of 36" or less. I would like to have an HDTV capable TV and am looking for recomendations. Thanks.

I was in exactly the same situation about nine months ago (I finally followed my instincts and got rid of the entertainment center) and narrowed my selection down to the Philips 30PW9815/17, the Philips 34PW9815/17, and the Panasonic CT-34WX50. I finally decided on the 30PW9815. The 30PW9815 was satisfactory, but I wanted something larger, so recently I ditched the entertainment center and picked up a Toshiba 42H81 RPTV.

As a matter of fact, I'm trying to sell the Philips now. If you live anywhere near southeast Texas, that could be advantageous for you.

...Panasonic 36HX41 at slight less price (Sony excel ay flushing out detail, where Panny excel at producing vivd picture). Both have received great reviews and carry one year warranty :)

Ditch the entertainment center. If you are going to put that much money into a new tv, you WILL regret not getting a widescreen.

We just bought one, and have been kicking ourselves we didn't do it sooner. Movies seen how they were intended to be seen, is worth it!
