HK AVR 520 going to standby?? Need halp fasta guy from MTBR

Hi Folks,
I'm a recent newcomer to the HT world. I've recently purchased the HK AVR 520 along with some NHT surround speakers and a velodyne CHT-12 sub. It seems to be a very nice setup and meets my needs quite nice, however, there seems to be one small glitch -- the receiver will inadvertantly go into standby mode.

It's happened during fm play, CD play, and VHS play (I don't have a DVD yet).

I watched two movies over the weekend. During one movie it went to standby twice, the second movie made it through without a problem.

Pressing the "on" button immediately returns power and it acts normal until its next episode.

Sometimes I can listen to music for hours without a problem (in fact, during music playback the issue seems to have waned a bit)

I've checked and reconnected all speaker connections.

I'm certain that the unit is not in the programmed sleep mode.

Any ideas?? I'm running out of time. The online outfit I purchased from (OneCall) has a 15-day window for returns of defective equipment, after that you have to deal with the manufacturer and the only option is to have the unit repaired (not replaced). (I think I have about 5 days left).
SEND IT BACK! (nt)BigL
