| High and Low level inputs/outputs... | RUSSIA Jul 29, 2002 12:10 PM | | How is it possible to convert a high-level output into a low-level one? For example, is it possible to convert my power output on my Kenwood receiver to somehow be converted externally to a low-level output so that I can re-route the signal to another receiver? Thanks for any posts in reply in advance.

If you want to add a power amplifier to a car audio system without a low-level output, you can use a device called a "line out converter", which converts the high level speaker output signal of the factory head unit to a low-level signal that can drive a power amplifier. I think the line out converter degrades the sound slightly though.
