| LINE DOUBLERS,SCALERS,HDTV RECIEVERS...HELP!!! | swgiust Oct 21, 2002 2:36 PM | | I AM TRYING TO MAXIMIZE THE PICTURE QUALITY OF MY MITS 65"
HDTV. IT IS WONDERFUL ON DVD, AND PRETTY GOOD ON SATALITE. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT BETTER IF POSSIBLE. I SEE ADS FOR LINE DOUBLERS AND OR SCALERS FOR $600 - $ 700. IS THIS
THE ROUTE TO GO. OR DO HDTV TUNERS HAVE LINE DOUBLERS IN THEM? THEY ALSO COST $500-600. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. |
| A waste of money I think... | Keith from Canada Oct 22, 2002 5:33 AM | | As far as I know, the line doubler would do little to improve the picture on your set. All HD and HD-Ready sets have 3:2 pulldown which pulls the same duty as a line doubler.
The only way to significantly improve the picture quality on your set is to ensure that it's properly and fully calibrated. Spending the $'s you're willing to spend on a line doubler on a good ISF technician would likely be the best use of your funds. |
