| E.T. or Star Trek III CE owners...IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU | fnkycld Oct 23, 2002 11:53 AM | | I just received my copies of the 2-disc versions of E.T. and Star Trek III DVDs today in the mail only to find that the covers had writing in both English AND French. I get a feeling that the place I ordered them from, www.playcentric.com, is located in Canada which would explain the French. I'm just looking for confirmation though from you guys that definaltey got your copies here in America that your versions DO NOT have words in both English and French on the covers. Maybe i'm wrong and the studios are now just releasing one cover for everywhere in region 1, but i get a feeling i'm not and will have to send these back. I'm sure the discs are authentic and all, i'd just kinda like to have the "real" version from here in the states. So if some of you could, please let me know if yours have the French wording on them or not. Thanks,

As for the "real" version comment - being Canadian, I am so offended by this remark I just don't know what to say.
And I bet you wonder why some people dislike America too. |

Whoa calm down, you DEFINATELY misunderstood what i meant. By "real" i simply meant the version of the disc i expected to get. In no way was i implying this one was better than the one released in Canada or any other part of the world for that matter. The content on both versions is exactly the same! How could one be better than the other? Relax a bit buddy, that wasn't what I meant by "real." That was the reason it was in quotes in the first place! Ugh,

| Important Question? | robinc Oct 26, 2002 9:10 PM | | well,I live in Canada and don't especially want the french
material automatically added, I am surprised you do not have spanish on a dvd from the US but did you check or notice the dvd with the english plus french tracks was made in Mexico as mine was probably be workers from other central american countries re-packaging material made on machines assembled in malaysia usine components made in China and shipped through Japan -which further illustrates the meaninglessness or national borders.

but did you notice the package with the english and french label was made in Mexico probably by labourers from Honduras or Salvadore on machines assembled in Malaysia made with parts from China- so there is no "REAL" version
