| You might want to rephrase the quesiton... | Keith from Canada Oct 24, 2002 9:46 AM | | I personally wouldn't buy a 43" Hitachi. Of course, I own a 47" Panasonic so that plays into the equation.
First off, it sounds like you're looking for the approval of others to justify your decision to purchase the set in an attempt to avoid any potential buyers remorse. I can tell you first hand that the only way to do that is to go out and do your homework and take the advice of others with a grain of salt. The most important buying decision that you should make will come from your eyes. If YOU like the picture of the Hitachi more than the other sets, then you should buy it. If you've done your research and looked at what the competition has to offer and you still like Hitachi the best, then go for it!
You should know that Hitachi is a good name in RPTV's and they're fairly well respected for producing good sets at a reasonable price. |
| You might want to rephrase the quesiton... | rayh78 Oct 24, 2002 11:34 AM | | I have heard that you really can't judge the picture good in a showroom. I am concerned the picture of these new TVs would not be much better than what I have. And with the borders on the 16.9 set would I have that much of a difference than my current 32". Also I could go with a 53" max but it would be a little crowed with my furniture. Would 43 be ok for 10 ft distance?
Thanks |
| You might want to rephrase the quesiton... | agentcooper Oct 24, 2002 1:21 PM | | The Hitachi 43" you looking at is a good tv...and 10 ft is about right for that size..However, if you don't watch a lot of movies I wouldn't buy the 16:9 just yet. I have been looking at 43"-51" RPTV's but I watch a lot of movies and don't really mind watching regular TV in that zoom mode....I wouldn't watch regular TV in 4:3 mode on a 16:9 TV....that is kind of silly I would think. Basically if you watch more 4:3 keep it. |
