I have a Denon 2802. I am running an optical cable from my x-box to my receiver. For some reason I cannot change the DSP mode when the feed is from the x-box. I tried the different optical inputs on the back of the reciever but still it did not help. If anyone has some suggestions please let me know. Thank you.

When you are running a dolby digital signal from your DVD player, can you change the DSP settings? The Denon may cancel all dsp's when running 5.1. The majority of X-Box games run in 5.1 so that may be the problem. Just something to try. If you can change the dsp when running a 5.1 signal from the DVD player....ummmm I am not sure why it wouldn't work for the x-box then ;o( Trash the whole system by a Lexicon MC 12 , a bunch of Krell mono blocks and hook it up to some Wilson Watt Puppies ;o) lol
