Where did you hear about it anyway? I searched the website for PartsExpress and came up empty ... I have their catalog also, but couldn't find it there either. So where?

check # 510-228 or just search dvd setup or something. Or better yet

It's on the back cover of the flyer I just got. I'm ordering some of the high mass stands as soon as they get them back in stock and some damping tape for the rack I'm building in a few weeks, and maybe some other little stuff. Anyway its 7.77 on sale, and it says it has Stereo, pro logic, DD, and DTS set ups, plus video calibration stuff. Since I'm ordering some other stuff anyway, I figured 7.77 couldn't hurt. Just wanted to see if anyone had used it. Guess I'll have to let you know if it's decent

I used this disc to adjust the picture on my TV. Yes, I think it works. It provided on-screen guides for setting picture brightness, contrast, sharpness, color, and tint. I had previously set those by eyeball. The new settings for brightness, contrast, and sharpness done with the disc did look better. I had previously set them too bright. The settings for color and tint were unchanged. For less than $8 it is a good deal. I didn't use the Avia or Sound & Vision discs so I can't compare it to them.

The disc also provides pink noise for balancing sound levels of 5 channels plus the LFE channel, and demonstrates in-phase and out-of-phase sounds. In my hands, these features gave me settings no different from those I had from using the pink noise source of my receiver.

The disc does include some cool film footage of high-rise building demolition scenes that will give your subwoofer a good workout.

can we not accomplish the same thing from the THX test modes included on many of the new DVD releases??
