| New Panasonic SAHE200K | John1974 Apr 30, 2003 4:50 AM | | Anyone hear anything about these receivers? Either good or bad? There on sale in Circuit City this week with a free DVD and Free surround 6th channel speaker. Im trying to compare thes eto Onkyo, Marantz or Denon. Thanks |
| good reviews | bikehikefish Apr 30, 2003 1:39 PM | | Consumer Reports liked them. So did another review I read, but can't remember for sure where (Sound & Vision??).
Seems like a good value; lots of features for the money.
The only thing that turned me off was the marketing. When I looked a Circuit City the power rating was giving a 6 ohms, but they didn't tell you it was at 6 ohms. Seems somewhat deceptive. Unknowing consumers would not know they were comparing a 6 ohm rating against another receiver rated at 8 ohms. |

I researched the Pan for a while and has good digital inputs, good power & other extras etc... but some people would say that the brand hasn't quite proved itself as much as Yamaha, Onkyo, Marantz etc... |

fall. I've been very happy with it. It has plenty of inputs, including several optical, all the speaker connections are binding posts, not the cheap spring clips.
It provides for speaker setup with small/large, and distance parameters. The only negative thing is that the crossover can be set at 100,150 or 200 Hz, the more prefferable 80hz is missing. I does tend to run a bit hotter that many receivers, but I have never heard the fan come on, nor has it shut down on me. If you buy it, just make sure it has plenty of air space around it for circulation. |
