pre-out & 2nd zone ?Tarheel_

o.k. here is my deal...i have a Denon 2801 and use the front pre-outs to a dedicated amp. Now, i also have my deck speakers connected to the front 'B' speaker connectors on the Denon.
Problem: when attempting to play a source through the B speakers only, the A speakers are also active. In other words, if the A/B switch is selected to B only...both are active. (this was a non issue prior to using the pre-outs)

How do i tune out the A speakers, but listen to the B pair?

Can't you just turn off the seperate amp when you want to listen to tunes outside?

Not the most technicallly correct solution but it would work.
