| New HDTV - dlp, plasma, lcd, rptv...aaak! | spiffnme May 7, 2003 4:10 PM | | The audio portion of my HT is now complete. I've got some really rocking sound now. Next in line is a new TV.
I've just started looking into it, and my head is spinning. First let me start by saying I indeed want to be sure this new tv is HD, because eventually that's the way TV is going to be. Second, I want at LEAST 50". And finally, I want a tv that can be viewed from ANY seating position without suffering a loss of picture quality. (i.e. every projection tv I've seen suffers from this problem) and finally, price should be kept below $7500. I want this to be the last TV I buy for MANY years to come.
So what are my options? From my criteria, are there any particular types of TV I should avoid? I'm really at a loss right now. Give me a jumping off point, and I'll start doing some more investigating in that area. Right now, I don't even know what I should be investigating!
Thanks! |
| Here's the skinny | Eboli May 7, 2003 4:15 PM | | Buy a RP HD ready set about 56 inches, wide screen. Mitsubishi is the best value; get the lowest of the three grades -- the Diamond aint worth 2 times the price. The best web site for info is hometheaterspot.com |
