|  3:2 pull down? | cvc Nov 9, 2003 8:48 PM | | my dad just bought a new Mitsubishi 48" hdtv widescreen..my question is a bit lame but i want to know do i use the dvd player to perform the 3:2 pull down or the t.v.?..the dvd player is a brand new Mitsubishi player as well..progressive scan..(Pauls big screen in California gave him a deal on the dvd player and free component cable otherwise we would have gotten a panasonic or sony)..i'm going to dial in the t.v. using just the thx optimode found on the Disney dvds..i have a blue filter to help with color adjustments..any other tips you guys have are fully appreciated..thanks! |
|  re: 3:2 pull down? | richieb Nov 10, 2003 3:59 AM | | DVD player should do the 3:2 pulldown in theory, as the conversion is performed before picture/signal leaves the digital domain. Letting your TV perform the function means the signal has crossed into the analog domain to be passed through the cabling (Degrades the picture quality) and then the TV is left to perform the 3:2 pulldown with a degraded signal.
If letting the TV perform the 3:2 pulldown gets better results, your DVD player is probably not that good. |
