NiroTek HT system for second room...Opinions???MikeInMo

Has anyone had the opportunity to hear the new NiroTek 1.1 system yet? Long story short was developed by Niro Nakamichi (sp?), yea the one and same from tape deck fame. It is a system which includes a progressive scan DVD, 8 inch sub, integrated amp (w/microprocessor control), and a single speaker made up of five drivers that is said to accuately replicate a 5.1 system.

I know, I know, yea right a 5.1 system. I already have an HT system in the basement, but I am looking at this for my vaulted living room area which is quite open and flows (well not directly) to the kitchen and is a secondary listening and viewing location. My wife has been after me for a while to hook up an extra system up there so she can listen to CD's while cooking and cleaning, but she does not want wires and speakers everywhere.

The Nirotek system plays the timing game to make the ears think the sound is coming from distinct sources.

Let me hear what you think.

Here's a review. More like a comparison with the B(l)ose 3.2.1 system.

He thinks it blows the Bose out of the water (surprise surprise !!)
