compared to single players? Does the chroma bug still exist?
I know nothing about Pscan, should i be looking for any features/formats?

my buddy is piecing together his new HT room...he just bought a Sony 60" HDTV projection set and now needs a DVD player. He wants 5 disc, but also a quality unit to match his tv. I recommended sticking to a single unit. Any suggestions out there?

budget <$300
must have progressive scan
SACD/DVD-A is preferred

See if he can get his hands on any units that have the Froujda chip inside, basically the cream of the crop when it comes to picture. My brother has a 5 disc Panasonic (model 65 or something like that) and the picture is simply stellar, not to mention there is no chroma bug issue. The menu of the unit sucks but the quality is well worth it. I think some Denon/Marantz players have the Froujda chip inside, check them out.

There is a new Samsung DVD Player for $299.

It runs off DVI and you can get 720P upconverted out of it. It also has the Faroudja chip in it.

I think it has some form of 5.1 audio.

I'm going to buy that unit when I get my new TV.
