my buddy is piecing together his new HT room...he just bought a Sony 60" HDTV projection set and now needs a DVD player. He wants 5 disc, but also a quality unit to match his tv. I recommended sticking to a single unit. Any suggestions out there?

Nov 12, 2003 11:36 AM | | See if he can get his hands on any units that have the Froujda chip inside, basically the cream of the crop when it comes to picture. My brother has a 5 disc Panasonic (model 65 or something like that) and the picture is simply stellar, not to mention there is no chroma bug issue. The menu of the unit sucks but the quality is well worth it. I think some Denon/Marantz players have the Froujda chip inside, check them out. |

It runs off DVI and you can get 720P upconverted out of it. It also has the Faroudja chip in it.
I think it has some form of 5.1 audio.
I'm going to buy that unit when I get my new TV.
