How to set-up 6.1 AND run B speakers in another room?Stoneridger

Hello -- great discussion forum. I have learned a ton here

Here is my situation:
1) I am finishing my basement and am building a theater room that is going to be 6.1 (maybe 7.1)
2) I am planning to use a Denon receiver (2803) and Polk Audio in walls (RC85i fronts and RC65i surrounds and back) for the theater room. (I also have a Klipsch KSW 12 sub. Still need a center speaker)
3) I was also going to put in a set or circular ceiling speakers in the office (Polks again, probably RC60i)

Can I run all of this from the Denon 2803? I looked at the picture and it has nine speaker outputs, although I would have to run the office speakers from "Front B" jacks. I think this means I would not be able to use both the theater and the office with different sources simultaneously which is fine. But will it work at all? Will two circular speakers sound like crap running off of the front jacks?

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Shane

The 2803 actually has the capability to have you run both at the same time and have two different sources running. If you want 6.1 or 7.1, you have to use a seperate 2 channel amplifier to power the "den" pair of speakers. If you go this route, you use the 2803 as a preamp for these two channels, route wires to a seperate 2 channel amplifier, then run wires from your seperate amp to the speakers.

If you want to use only 5.1 in your home theater, then you can actually use the other two channels in the 2803 to power the "den" speakers and use as a second source without the requirement for a seperate outboard amp.

In short, 2 channels in the 2803 are assignable.
