Woodman, one more question on RPTVsDenon_man

I was just wondering...

Can you turn a HD RPTV on it's side (i.e. it would be sitting on either the right or left side)?

It would only be for a little while (in order to move it).

I was thinking the convergence would go out of whack but I think this can be fixed from the menu.

If this wouldn't work, I was thinking of getting an Infocus ScreenPlay 4800 projector or something to that extent.

Thanks for all your help.

Whether an RPTV is standing upright or laying on its side or upside down, should have no effect on convergence at all. Also, you are quite right that the convergence can be corrected by the user (with a bit of practice and patience).

If your viewing room will accomodate a front projector, by all means go for it! In home theater, there's nothing better than a really BIG screen. Front projectors also have another major advantage - which is that if and when the need to have it serviced shows up. you can merely tuck it under your arm and take it to the service facility. Another big advantage is that when the performance drops below what you find acceptable, you merely have to replace a lamp rather than a set of three CRTs - a major cost saving.

What is the pricetag on this InFocus 4800? It is DLP isn't it?
