How to make a DIY sub enclosure look nicegrampi
Nov 27, 2003 8:32 AM
I have a DIY sub enclosure which I built myself. It works fine, but I hate the looks of it because it's made from MDF. I would like to build a new one that looks nice enough to actually be considered furnature. Obviously, building one form solid oak, cherry, or walnut would be prohibitively expensive. I would probably want to build it using MDF, then cover it with some type of a vaneer, plywood, or formica. Any suggestions?

I just finished a project and used a 3/4inch 4x8 sheet of plywood that has a top layer of oak. It cost $29.95 at Lowes and then get an oak board and cut it into strips to finish off the edges. With a little planning, stain and some time you should be able to come up with something nice.

Also like Jim said we switched over to the new forums. Come on over for a visit.
