| Transatlantic Live | tj. May 10, 2001 9:40 PM | | Finally got this baby, spun it a time and a half now. Some first impressions:
- raw and unprocessed live sound. So nice and refreshing to hear live music as live music on a recording rather than doctored up to studio lifelessness as so many live releases are (like most of the recent live Yes material...gag!)
- lots of fun for the Transatlantic fan, way more vocals by Morse and a tiny bit from Roine....but oh his guitar work is raunchy and cutting.
- great, and I mean GREAT Beatle covers! If you've got the 2 CD original album you've heard them rip around some Beatle stuff for fun, these versions are a bit more polished.
I wouldn't recommend it for the non-Transatlantic fan, but for those who want to hear alternative and raw versions of the slick studio production it's mighty fun. |
