I never took J.B. seriously before, much less listened to any of his music. All I knew of was that 'wasting away in margaritaville tune', and I though he and his band really sucked. BUT, the other day, as a fluke, I asked my parrothead freind Sam to bring over a recent J.B. CD to hear on my Maggies, and he brought over BHOTM, which was really good! I must say, that after listening to it with an open mind, the musicianship on this HDCD was actually very good, and I kind of liked it!!! What's next, Britney Spears or The Backstreet Boys?!?! HELP!!!

You're doing fine on your own. It's a long jump from Jimmy B.'s drunk-carribean-rock and roll to the BS boys, you are probably safe. Actually, BHOTM is one of the very few I don't own. Didn't know it was one of those HDCD things, now I guess I'll have to get it although I lack an HDCD capable player. Still waiting for the DVD to come out. Yes I like all kinds of stupid music as long as it's fun and Jimmy B. is fun. I'd have to agree that Margaritaville and Cheeseburger pretty much stink, but that's what I think of most songs that get played for the 1,000,000 time.
