| Rambling about the Strokes, White Stripes, divorce, etc..... | Stone Aug 23, 2001 5:39 PM | | My divorce trial was today and I came out ok, so I went and treated myself to:
Mercury Rev - Yerself Is Steam. Got this used, apparently OOP (?).
planemistakenforstars - f*ck with fire. I asked for new punk and this was one of the two that was recommended to me.
XTC - Skylarking. Never had this on CD until now.
Death Cab For Cutie - Something About Airplanes.
The White Stripes - s/t. I will discuss this more below.
Propagandhi - Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes. The other punk rec I got at the local record store I frequent.
Ok, regarding the White Stripes, apparently their new album is out of stock by their label, so if you have it, feel very lucky. Since I HAD to get something by this band, I picked up what was available to me.
Regarding the Strokes, just a quick note. The songs off their The Modern Age EP are on Is This It, their debut album, BUT they are different versions. I like the versions on The Modern Age EP much better because they are more raw and less produced than the versions that show up on the album.
Ahhhh, the trial is over, had a few beers, and listening to Mercury Rev. Life is good.

P.S. Hi Trin :-). |
| Hi Honey :-) | Trin Aug 24, 2001 7:52 AM | | Ok, wait a second while I wipe the drool off.......... (he he).
Maybe,if you're good, I'll look around for the new White Stripes album in this area. You never know I might get lucky and find one here in the big city. I'm thinking that there are probably more stores that would carry it here than there are there. There must be one floating around out there somewhere.
Hmmm, let me think.... where to start looking? Best Buy maybe??? LMAO.

P.S. I'm very VERY happy that life is good ;-). |
