| Favorite duets (by two well-known singers)? | Zoltan61 Aug 24, 2001 5:25 AM | | I like it when two great singers sing a song together (well, I'm not talking about the "We Are The World" now...). Even if the "other" one is only in the background. Songs like:
If I Close My Eyes Forever - Ozzy Osbourne & Lita Ford
It's Only Love - Bryan Adams & Tina Turner
Watching TV - Roger Waters & Don Henley
I Will Not Go Quietly - Don Henley & Axel Rose
Any other popular ones you have in mind? |
| High quality 80s cheese pop: Ebony&Ivory and The Girl Is Mine | Darius Aug 24, 2001 5:32 AM | | Each were pure fluffy pop cotton candy (although one did have a message of racial harmony), but the melodies were great and they each rescued by the talents of the voices performing them. |
| High quality 80s cheese pop: Ebony&Ivory and The Girl Is Mine | Zoltan61 Aug 24, 2001 5:38 AM | | ...then don't forget "Say, Say, Say" by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson! How about the one by George Michael and Aretha Franklin - sh1t, I forgot the title!... |
| Stop Draggin' My Heart Around | Ms. Nomer Aug 24, 2001 6:37 AM | | Don't think I'd call Petty a great singer, though Nicks is. There's a track or two on AIC's "SAP" ep with Ann Wilson. How 'bout Cornell and Vedder on "Hunger Srike" from Temple of the Dog. Ozzy and Lita Ford...just kidding ;-). |

| Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush: Don't Give Up | Grblgrbl Aug 24, 2001 7:37 AM | | David Bowie & John Lennon: Fame Robert Plant & Sandy Denny: Battle of Evermore Kate Bush & David Gilmour: Pull Out the Pin Weirdest: David Bowie & Bing Crosby: Little Drummer Boy |
| Well known? | Jim Clark Aug 24, 2001 7:37 AM | | I'm not sure how well known you have to be to qualify:
Sinead O'Connor/Shane McGowan (Pogues) "Haunted"-probably my all time favorite duet off the top of my head.
Off The Wall and Cheating Nominee: Merle Haggard/Clint Eastwood "Bar Room Buddies" OK Clint is not a well known singer. "Paint Your Wagon" is all the evidence you need to know about his singing and this song does nothing to disprove any hope that things got better. Classic drunk buddy song though, I used to have lots of those.

Also, while on Emmylou, I think she blends very well with a lot of singers. One of my favs is Bob Dylan's Desire album, on which she does backup vocals. "One More Cup Of Coffee", "Mozambique", "Huricane", "Black Diamond Bay" etc. gorgeous!! |
