| "Quick & Dirty Comp", anyone? | Ms. Nomer Dec 23, 2001 10:22 AM | | I threw this comp together a few weeks ago with only a couple of songs in mind and no real planning, but I'm pleased with the results. I pretty much just burned whatever I felt like hearing at the moment. I don't think it should go on comp4trade because five of the songs came from the "No Alternative" benefit album, which seems to be quite common, at least among my circle of friends. But for a limited time (until this thread gets knocked off of the main page) I'll offer it here. Any takers?

The idea was almost exactly like yours... just throw together some stuff for the road.. note track 14! :) I swear it's a coincidence! :) Let me know if you're interested in a quickie trade.. for the time I spent on this one I think it came out really well, esp after a few listens on the road over the past weekend..

| Green Pajamas | Stone Dec 25, 2001 4:57 PM | | I've had the page on AMG for Indian Winter bookmarked for months. I've been meaning to check these guys out (knowing that they did the original version of "Kim the Waitress"). Is their stuff consistently good? Where's a good place to start with them? Do you know if it's all still in print? I'll stop with the questions now... :-)

| Wish I knew more :-( | Masonjar Dec 25, 2001 7:04 PM | | All I can say is I recently acquired their album "Seven Fathoms Down and Falling" - which I think is a really good collection of Beatles-inspired psychedelic pop songs.. I'm not really an expert on the group, but I have a friend who is, and he said this album is good but not their best.. I'll have to find out which one he likes the best... I really like this one though.. Sorry I can't help more.

| Wow, that is odd. | Ms. Nomer Dec 25, 2001 5:39 PM | | Yeah, I'm up for a trade. I still have your addy so no need to email. My hard drive died but I can just use my stand-alone (sans CD-Text though). More often than not I find my quicky comps to be among my best. I guess this should tell me to trust my instincts and not over-think it. All those years of making cassette comps must be paying off :-). |
