Then I discovered that Plextor actually makes the TDK Velo series. Comp USA has this drive for 79.00 through today (Saturday). This requires a 50.00 rebate through TDK- BUT - based on my CDR media rebates, TDK actually sends rebate checks out.
I'd had my heart set on Plextor for sometime but for 79.00 on a drive so highly recomended, it was an easy change of heart.
