Neither are exceptional throughout, but both have their decided high points. The live set is from a show that I saw and basically captures the experience pretty well. Marino was excellent live. |

| Gallagher | ChipB Aug 27, 2001 11:24 AM | | Rob, There was a thread a month or two ago that discussed Rory Gallagher recommendations that several people responded to...you might try to dig that one up. In the meantime, I'll reiterate a few. 1. Top Priority (probably the 'hardest' of his records; my personal favorite) 2. Calling Card 3. Live in Europe 4. Defender 5. Against the Grain 6. Irish Tour '74 7. Photo Finish 8. Tattoo Most of these have been recently remastered/reissued. If you can find any of his early work with Taste, I'd recommend you pick up "On the Boards." Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush: 1. IV (Dragonfly is my favorite FM&MR tune) 2. Live (Marino at his Warp 10 soloing best) Hope this helps. -Chip |
