First impression of Tori Amos' Strange Little GirlsDarius

Wow: quite impressive. Sure, one wishes she could lighten up once in a while and pick up the tempo a bit more often, but these songs pack an emotional punch, and her voice is gorgeous. The chilling Eminem cover alone is worth the price of admission; I missed my exit on the freeway while listening to it.

Also bought System of a Down and Alicia Keys today; along with Amos all three of these were picked up because end-of-the-year buzz in the magazines and such intrigued me (now I just gotta find Autechre and the Microphones when I get back to NYC). So far so good.
