| How stupid can people be? | dave c Jan 4, 2002 2:25 AM | | And yes I know its off topic...
Here in Australia, Sydney is fairly surrounded by fires. At Xmas there were over 100, burning along a front of over 9oo kilometres.
There are still over 80 and a LOT of people have been evacuated. Hundreds of firempeople and volunteers are risking their lives (including I believe some Americans who have flown in).
And what do we hear reported... over half of them have been started deliberatly... so far 25 people have been arrested for starting fires.
Just how stupid are these people???
Rant rant rant. |

I got a DVD for Christmas that has a celebration concert featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Weber. The first song is done (very well) by Tina Arena..............I had never seen her before........what a babe -- and a great voice too.
She really does a knock-out job on "Whistle Down the Wind" on this DVD.
I have since discovered that she is from down under and has been a treasure there for some time........tell us about her, please. |

Locally we have stupid people here also.New Years eve some of the future leades of this country, teenagers, decided to drive around and steal everyones mail. The only thing was on there get away from the scene of the crime they got there car stuck in a snowbank. They call a wrecker to pull them out.The genuises didn't realize that when a wrecker pulls you out they have to call the cops to file an accident report. They declined the offer from the wrecker to pull them out.The wrecker driver smelled something funny and called the cops anyway.By the time the cops got there the car was still in the snowbank but the kids were gone.Unfortunatelly the teenage einsteins left the mail strewn about the back seat of the car in clear sight of the cops flashlights.Yer busted boys!!!

| hope you're ok, dave | cc Jan 4, 2002 1:50 PM | | I recalled your mentioning how hot it was a couple of weeks back as I've been watching the BBC reports on the situation over there. How awful... I hope things turn for the better.

| I wish it would rain... | dave c Jan 4, 2002 11:01 PM | | It ha srained a little herer ecently, but its so hot it eveaporates very quickly. In fact sometimes as I drive up the hill towards my house I can see steam rising from the road and it looks just like my house is on fire!!
The bad stuff is a 1000 kilometres away. Remember Australia is a very big place.
But the fire risk signs on the road out of town are set to extreme.
Yet every day I see idiots throwing cigarette ends out of car windows.... |
