| I thought she was saying, good luck ... she was saying good bye ... | The Slider Apr 18, 2002 12:02 PM | | Richard Thompson is the album of the day for Thursday, except I don't have "Rumor and Sigh" with me, only one of my comps (Sparkle II) with "I Misunderstood" on it (followed appropriately by Tracy Chapman's Matters of the Heart). What a nice album, though. Might even be my favorite. Mitchell Froom seemed to really work out well as the producer on this one. I never did pick up his last album. The last one I bought was the double album which was called you? me? us? and never developed much appreciation for it. Anyway, the comp is up to Low doing "Like a Forest" now so I better be going. Oops, didn't sign off in time so now it's up to Daniel Lanois doing "For the Beauty of Wynona". Wow, that guy plays some good guitar. Really gotta go now :-) |
| step away from the keyboard! | Rae Apr 18, 2002 12:07 PM | | I repeat, step away from the keyboard! Aren't you supposed to be on vacation?? Go on; we'll still be here when you get back.
That "Like a Forest" is really a great song.

| Don't sit on my Jimmy Shands! | Mike-T Apr 18, 2002 12:13 PM | | Yep,
Richard Thompson seems to be the artist of the day several days a week for me. The last album, "Mock Tudor," is really very good and absolutely worth picking up. I know what you mean about "you?me?us?" not being too gripping--truthfully, I blame a lot of that on the production--too much weird reverb and a strange ambience. But "Rumour and Sigh" is still one of my favorites too.
This has inspired me to play some RT--"Small Town Romance" it is!
