Remastered Wish ListAudio Girl

Which releases would you like to see remastered by a mastering guru such as Stan Ricks or Steve Hoffman? These can be releases that have never been remastered & there are no plans to do so OR they were remastered poorly to begin with. Also, feel free to include recordings that have never been released on CD. Here's 3 on my list that immediately come to mind:

1. The Neil Young catalogue - Including the infamous "missing six"

2. Buckingham Nicks - s/t (never released)

3. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Cheers!

He's posted on this board? I traded comps with a fellow by the name of Steve Hoffman. Coincidence? Just another Steve Hoffman? I wonder. I do have his email address still, I guess I could ask him and look totally stupid and opposed to just pretty much stupid.

Sorry Audiogirl, don't mean to send your thread too far off the beaten path.

Steve Hoffman, the mastering guru, has a website. Here's the link:

http://www.stevehoffman.tv/

His email address is listed on the website. It would be cool to see if it is the same Steve Hoffman. I have a lot of respect for him and his commitment to quality recordings.

Is the re-issue company where Mr. Hoffman is the main mastering maven. Their website has a discussion board, on which Mr. Hoffman is an almost daily participant. Here's a link:

I agree with Mary on Astral Weeks, also Joan Armatrading.

Another cool fact; he's a Legacy speaker owner/advocate. He's pictured in their product literature.

I recently read an interview article with him in a back issue of some audio mag. He semed like a "regular" dude.

I guess we could invite him over here, but I'm not sure how our other celebrity Troy would handle the competition ;-)

One is the famous and world reknown Steve Hoffman
One is a very nice guy from Omaha named Steve Hoff.

Well, it gave me something to do for a while and you somethng to read. I wonder what ever happened to Steve Hoff? He really was a nice guy.

I was hoping we'd have an inside track to some early pressings of the Creedence Clearwater Revival "Pendulum" release that he is currently working on. ;-0

Hi Jim, Steve Hoff here. Thanks for the nice words. I drop in from time to time but i don't like the format of the new board nearly as well. I like to e-mail people for discussion and I dont see that icon pop up any more. Sounds silly, but if I could direct e-mail after a reply I would participate a lot more. If I am overlooking the feature please advise. I did trade comps with quite a few people on the board and really enjoyed it. Nice of you to remember me.

Sorry for confusing you with someone else. You got nearly famous for a few minutes anyway.

It's taken just about everybody a while to get accustomed to the 'improvements' around here so you're not alone. No email function. Can you even believe that? I'm about to ask if that's ever going to be fixed or remain a permanent feature. It really does stink.

Well, glad to know you are around on occasion, even if it's not often. Take care.

Hi Rick,

I'm glad you still enjoy my one and only comp. I don't like to rush things but after a year and a half I'm ready to make my second. It will be an eclectic, "accessable" (I love your words!) mix of some of my newly acquired tastes. Yours will be the first one I send out. Let me know what you think! Nice to hear from you again!
