I can only get "Page not found" with the link I have and with what I find with a Google search.

I think we need to wait for dbi to get back from vacation to get it working again. (nt)Slosh

Comp -4- Trade: RIPJim Clark

DBI left me an email before his departure explaining that the site was offline for good. Rising costs from his provider and I suspect the demands on his time were a bit too much.

He forwarded the pages and files to me but I'm afraid that I lack the knowledge and desire to want to put it all up. I will consider hosting the email addresses and will get them up as time allows. I didn't realize that Dave was actually paying for the site. I had assumed that his provider simply afforded him some space as part of his deal. I for one appreciate his efforts and sincerly doubt that anyone would have an easy time filling the void. He simply did a great job.

Thanks again DBI.

jc

That you don't know what you've got till it's gone'

That's a real shame I always enjoyed looking through and picking out a couple of trades now and then and it was always useful for the e-mail links, but I didn't realise Dave paid for it!

Dave was (is) the main man who set up the very first Rave Recs comp and kicked off the whole trading lark for a lot of people round here, he's always been incredibly generous and patient with his time, I figure we owe him an awful lot. Big big thanks to Dave, hope he's having a nice holiday.

Cheers
Mike

I hear he was selling our comps over at Rocky Road under the pretense "classic rock remasters". It got ugly when they actually started receiving them. Reason #11 why Dave went on vacation?? ;-)

Just kidding, that is a major loss to the board, but I can understand the reasons. I'd like to add my thanks to big Dave for helping get the trading thing going and for all the time and effort spent on Comp-4-Trade.

Rick
