Super Furries -- Concert Reviewaudiobill

Last night I had the opportunity to see the Super Furry Animals live, for my first time. What a treat.

They played several tracks off of their newest, RATW; as well as a host of other tracks from their catalogue.

What impressed me most was the musicianship of the band. The lead singer (name??) not only was virtuosic with his voice and acoustic/electric guitars, but he did some amazing work with the synths. Vocoder was used on one track, as well as some instruments that were completely new to me.

Good sense of humour, too. Celery stalks were thrown out to the audience, early in the show & lead singer substituted two celery stalks, in place of the harmonica, on the neck holder...... so he could eat and play acoustic guitar at the same time. Very cool.

Furthermore, the visuals i.e., animation were superb and well synchronized to the music.

All in all, a very entertaining night in Toronto. BTW, a sold-out show.

Cheers,
audiobill

P.S., Mogwai is in town, next week
