Kansas played the burgh last night.DPM
Aug 10, 2002 6:41 AM
Last night, I got my second dose of Kansas live as they played the Pittsburgh Regatta--a boating/sports type of festival held every August that attracts thousands. The band members were in fine form. Even Steve Walsh's voice was in better shape than has come to be the norm lately. The only original members I noticed missing were Dave Hope and Kerry Livgren.

As far as the set list goes, I'm not as up on Kansas's repretoire as some others on this board, so I didn't know all of the tunes they performed. Here are the ones I did recognize.

1) The Wall
2) Child Of Innocence
3) Miracles Out Of Nowhere
4) Point Of No Return
5) Portrait
6) Play This Game Tonight
7) Dust In The Wind (encore)
8) Carry On Wayward Son (encore)

There were about four or five other tunes in their playlist, and the entire performance including three encores lasted about an hour and twenty minutes.

Tonight, Shawn Colvin will be performing. While I'm not a fan, I may go down to the Point and check out her show.
