| Awesome find in Classical guitar music,,,on Mercury.. | jsujo1 Aug 10, 2002 6:17 PM | | For only about 11 dollars, I bought at Borders a recording
by Mercury Living Presence made in 1962.
Its The Romeros, the royal family of spanish guitar. I am definitely convinced after listening to the Overtur of 1812 by the same folks, that these guys knew what they were doing. The recording director was the same person: Wilma Cozert.
The music is as natural as it gets,,,basically, very analog sounding,,,I just believe that is doesnt get any better than this...I may investigate all CD's from these tapes... |

Audio Fidelity was awesome in the old days too.

I put some of the money into a close fascmile to it in my car...Thats why i am only trying to find the CD's. I just found out that they transferred 100 titles,,,all remixed by Wilma Cozart.
Interesting link if you wanna read some info on how these recordings where done:

My car is sounding pretty good,,heck,,I have more DAC chips per channle now than at home. I have a real good system that corrects for phaze shifts, Time correction due to speakers distances and reflections from wondows, and gain adjustements. It has 2 Burr-Brown chips per channel and 2 for the subwoofers. all connected thru fiber optic. The drivers are from Vifa, Peerless and Morel,, and the amps are McIntosh and Planet Audio with a tube preamp in it.
I will look into which reissues arent up to snuff...thanks! |

Drive on!!

| by the way.... | mawako Aug 12, 2002 9:51 AM | | if you're in the mood for something different, try Willie Nelson's Stardust album, especially the title cut. No sonic explosions, but the miking is spectacular, IMHO.
