| Concert review : YES | Dave_G Aug 14, 2002 6:29 AM | | Last night I had the incredible pleasure to see my favorite band play again.
This time no orchestra.
This time Rick Wakeman is the keyboard player.
This time they are here to PLAY music and not have a bunch of bombs and lasers. Simple stage, simple lights, but not so simple music.
Setlist:
Firebird suite
Siberian Khatru
America
In the Presence Of
We Have Heaven
South Side of the Sky
The Revealing Science of God
Steve solo:
The Ancient
Georgia's Theme
( intermission )
Jon solo:
Show Me
Rick solo:
Six Wives
Wonderous Stories
And You and I ( with Jon )
Heart of the Sunrise
Magnification
Whitefish:
The Fish/Tempus Fugit/Silent Wings/Sound Chaser/Fish
Awaken
encore:
Yours is no Disgrace
Roundabout (abridged)
The Rick/Steve duet was absolutely incredible.
They were hot hot hot and tight as a drum. Steve continues to amaze me with his skills.
And Rick back with Yes is just something I can't describe.
We are very lucky these guys are still playing for us.
It's really hard to describe how good this show was. All I can say is the reviews on nfte are accurate - this is a special lineup right now and you better go see them if you can - this is a super group if one ever existed.
