| Hey PwrPopGuy, check out this "retro" comp. | Slosh Aug 15, 2002 2:00 PM | | Lurking in the deep, dark nether-regions of my walk-in closet I stumbled across a box of old cassette comps I did in college. Here's one simply titled Rock Mix 10/10/90. I remember it being quite popular at drunken bashes.
Side A:
1. One Clear Moment - Little Feat
2. Blues Before And After - Smithereens
3. Birthday - The Be Atles
4. Here Comes My Girl - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
5. Infatuation - Rod Stewart (with Jeff Beck)
6. Twice As Hard - The Black Crowes
7. Lights - Journey
8. Black Magic Women/Gypsy Queen - Santana
9. Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) - The Hollies
10. Boys Of Summer - Don Henley
Side B:
1. Split Decision - Steve Winwood (with Joe Walsh)
2. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Jeff Healey Band
3. Desperado (live) - Eagles
4. Bloody Well Right - Supertramp
5. Baby Hold On - Eddie Money
6. Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits
7. It's In The Way That You Use It - Eric Clapton
8. Tunnel Of Love - Bruce Springsteen
9. Old Man Down The Road - John Fogerty
10. Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker) - Rolling Stones
LOL. This comp really does flow well though. Thought you might get a kick out of it. :-) |
| Looks good to me! | PwrPopGuy Aug 15, 2002 4:13 PM | | But who the hell is The Be Atles?? (scratching my head on that one). I imagine it might be fun to get all those on disc and revisit this one on a newly-remastered cd-r comp, don't you think? Actually, I've got a few old cassette comps I did that sound almost good enough to just transfer to cd straight from the tape, especially the ones I did on Maxell UDXL's. (they'd have that warm analog sound with LP scratches as a bonus, too, without that cold digital harshness). Seriously, nice list of tunes on yours. |
| The Be Atles rule! | Slosh Aug 16, 2002 3:00 AM | | I'm just spelling it the way I pronounce it. ;-) |
| Maybe I will replicate it on CD-R. | Slosh Aug 16, 2002 3:55 AM | | I recorded all of those songs from CD (mostly my roommates') on a Maxell XLII-S 90 minute tape. I have most of the source CDs now but the tape itself still sounds good. Too bad there wasn't Dolby "S" back then (I used "B" because "C" never seemed to sound right when played on other decks - pumping artifacts). I'll have to lose a song or two to make it fit, but I like the sequencing so I'm hoping just omitting the Stones' tune will make it fit. I'll send ya a copy. |
