"Double Espresso"- Live Tony Levin with the band that appears on the "Pieces of the Sun" release that came out earlier this year (and excerpted on my Red Carpet Service comp) which features most of the 1980 Peter Gabriel touring band; Levin, Jerry Morotta and Larry Fast.

Monster mostly instrumental fusion by a real powerhouse band. 2 discs so there's lots of room to grow and jam and there are some GREAT covers on here like "Back in NYC" (I swear, I think I could make a comp of just covers of this song!), "Black Dog", "Sleepless" and a neet version of "Peter Gunn" with the California Guitar Trio making an appearance. Makes me angry that I blew the show off this past summer.

Fans of fusion and instrumental hard rock would consider this a "must have" release. 2 discs= 15 clams, too. Cheap!

Oh, Porcupine Tree tonight! Who wants to go?
Must be the GG Live !!!MasterCylinder

Got my copy of Troy's Red Carpet Service comp last Friday and listened to it all the weekend, great stuff indeed. Highlights include the Porcupine Tree and Flaming Lips tracks, but fact is that the whole comp is really brilliant.

Congrats, Troy, and thanks for sending me a copy!!

Demetrio.

It's funny, you just never know. It's funny top me that everybody like THIS comp so much. Some of the songs are sooooo dopey.

Pt was at the Fillmore. My head is tired.

Now I SEE who Levin is. Thanks for the recap, Troy.

I saw Levin, front row "live" at the Peter Gabriel Concert circa "shock the monkey" tour. He cut quite a presence then and, I'm sure even more so now with his added experience.

Interesting.......because I always wondered who that dude was who played so well at that Gabriel concert.

Thanks,
audiobill

It's funny when you talk about experience. Take a look at this guy's discography. He's got the most varied and longest musical resume I've ever seen. I think the oldest thing in there is from 1970.
