| A Thanksgiving Poem (a little off topic but appropriate) | HYFI Nov 27, 2002 10:09 AM | | Dabbling a bit with poetry lately, my wife asked me to write something for Thanksgiving to take the place of a prayer. Feel free to share this with your families if you like.
A Thanksgiving Poem
I awoke Thursday morning to a wonderful smell,
A turkey was roasting, I'm sure I could tell.
The family was arriving at noon or before,
We'll need some more eggnog, one more trip to the store.
Some will not make it, they passed earlier this year,
In our minds and our hearts, they will always be here.
The table was set with candles and wine,
All would be happy and have a good time.
So what are we thankful for, why are we here?
It's not the big house, and not the cold beer.
I'm thankful for the beauty of every sunrise,
I'm thankful for friends that help me grow wise.
I'm thankful for music that helps my soul live,
And thankful for my abundance, and ability to give.
So why are we thankful but one day a year,
When all that we need, is already here.
We should be more thankful every day we are living,
And not just this one day we all call Thanksgiving.

| Happy Thanksgiving! | ForeverAutumn Nov 28, 2002 6:27 AM | | That's really nice Hyfi. Its too bad that you wrote it six weeks too late for me. I'll save it for next year, but I'll have to change Thursday to Monday. I hope that won't hurt your artistic integrity.
Cheers! and Happy Thanksgiving!
