| Anyone seen the new Bowie DVD? | JoeMama Nov 30, 2002 12:33 PM | | The LA Times gave it a lukewarm review - primarily for focusing on his least productive 1980's period. The reviews on Amazon.Com are fairly strong. Just curious if others have an opinion? |

My favorite type of video is just a shot of the band playing, and there's not a lot of that here, mainly just the early stuff.
He sure likes washed out colors in his vids, that's a reoccuring thing in a lot of them. |
| No, but I've seen most of them... | DustyChalk Nov 30, 2002 4:29 PM | | ...and they're pretty dated, though enjoyable, yes. The reason they concentrate on that period, is because that's the period he had the most videos. I'm sure you've seen the video for Ashes to Ashes -- many of them look like that. If you do get it, or watch it, look for an amusing little thing I noticed during Fame 90. They're scrolling the lyrics along the bottom of one "frame" (in the web browser sense), and during one line, they omit it entirely. I'm not familiar with the exact lyrics, but to me, they sound like "...got to get an erection going", although most sites claim it's "...got to get a rain check on pain." I never thought about those lyrics until they omited them. Is this correct? Any other opinions? |
| I have bought Heathen by Bowie | Colin^ Nov 30, 2002 5:08 PM | | Fans of Bowie during the Berlin and Brian Eno years will enjoy Heathen. I liked his triology and this cd is good. |
