| What a weird concert DVD lineup | JDaniel Dec 2, 2002 12:35 PM | | Picked up a bargain bin $3.99 "Sony Backstage Pass Volume 1" live concert DVD in a store called Big Lots. It has live concert videos in both PCM/Stereo and Dolby Digital 5.1.
But listen to this weird lineup on the same DVD:
Harry Connick Jr.-He Is, They Are
Billy Joel-We Didn't Start The Fire
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Pride and Joy
The Allman Brothers Band-Midnight Rider
Jeff Buckley-Eternal Life
Jimmie Vaughan-Texas Flood
Shawn Colvin-Diamond In The Rough
John Denver-Annie's Song
Mary Chapin Carpenter-"Come On Come On"
Tony Bennett-"Moonglow" (with k.d. Lang)
Luther Vandross-"Power Of Love/Love Power"
Kenny Loggins-"Footloose"
Charlotte Church-"Danny Boy"
Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Mark O'Conner-"1B"
For $3.99 it is worth it just to hear SRV, Jimmie Vaughn, ABB, and Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin and Billy Joel weren't bad either - esp. in DD5.1
If interested in owning a cheap DD concert DVD across mucho genres, you might want to check this out. Hey, it's only $3.99.

| Where am I gonna find a Big Lots? | Swish Dec 2, 2002 8:55 PM | | The price looks nice for that DVD. I'm really interested in seeing the ABB, Jeff Buckley, Mary CC and Yo Yo Ma, but I can do without the rest. There are no "Big Lots" around here, but Costco and Sam's Club have been good sources for cheap DVDs. I have two SRV DVDs, and Jimmy's band was the opening act for SRV when I saw him about a month before his tragic death. His loss still pains me. The guy had just kicked his alcoholism and then he gets killed in that helicopter crash. Death can be so unfair. |
| Want me to pick one up and mail it to ya? | JDaniel Dec 3, 2002 8:10 AM | | Swish,
If you want one, I'll stop by there and see if they have some left. I can mail it to you. Just let me know?
