| Anybody heard of Jack Jackson? | Audio Girl Mar 1, 2003 9:42 AM | | A friend of mine emailed me and asked what I thought of this artist. I don't have a clue who he is. She also was interested in the RRers opinions. Let it rip!

| Jack Johnson? | DustyChalk Mar 1, 2003 4:16 PM | | Surfer dude, plays the kind of music you'd hear by the bonfire after the sun goes down. It's pretty good, but doesn't stand up well to repeated listenings. I got it on first hearing it at the store (was quite blown away), but playing it at home was kind of disappointing. There's one track that really stands out, so it's probably a keeper, and, quite possibly, since this is not my usual cup o' tea, I may just need to be in the right mood. NP: The Orb -- more my usual cup o' tea |
| I guess that's it | Audio Girl Mar 1, 2003 10:11 PM | | I have no idea. She emailed me and wanted my thoughts as well as fellow RRers. Based on your info, sounds like I might need to at least check it out.
Thanks, DC! |
| Brushfire Fairytales... | tugmcmartin Mar 3, 2003 7:13 AM | | Is the name of his album. Its decent. Mostly slow, laid back acoustic stuff. I've heard him compared with Ryan Adams and John Mayer. Closer to Mayer than Adams. Its definitely good listening for a mellow mood. Coffee house rock i guess. |
| Brushfire Fairytales... | Audio Girl Mar 3, 2003 8:41 AM | | Thanks, I'll have to check it out. My friend's tastes normally run to the mainstream (even more so than mine) because her selections tend to come from radio play. However, she's back in Minneapolis and possibly their radio play is much better than Dallas'. :-) |
| He'd get play on the AAA format radio and thats about it....(nt) | tugmcmartin Mar 3, 2003 9:12 AM | | |
