| New To Me- my Alaska! to Zwan canadiana | Finch Platte Mar 1, 2003 6:26 PM | | In retrospect, I shoulda started this comp with Alaska!, as it ends with Zwan. Hmmm, never too late, I guess. I'm in the process of burning the first copy, so I 'spose I could move things around... Ah, fuggit.
To those of you who are used to seeing me post about my comps featuring jazz/rock fusion or heavy metal, you may find this a refreshing breath of alternative air. From the Radiohead-influenced Mellowdrone to the Grammy-glutted Norah Jones (w/ Charlie Hunter), there's a lot of strokes here for many different folks. It's fairly mellow, believe it or not (if you have the latest discs from CMJ mag (Jan/Feb), you already have most of these tunes).
Let me know if you'd like a copy (3LockBox and PowerPopDude, you've both got copies coming w/ the delayed copies of 'Randumb' that I still haven't sent you).
1) Warren Zanes- Where We Began
2) Vikter Duplaix- Lust For Life
3) Nelika- Lime Sunday
4) Homunculus- Here And There
5) The Blood Brothers- Ambulance Vs. Ambulance
6) The Coral- Dreaming Of You
7) The Exies- My Goddess
8) Jon Langford & His Sadies- Solitaire Song
9) The Sharp Things- Right
10) Evermore- Slipping Away
11) Something For Kate- Monsters
12) Johnny Marr & The Healers- Down On The Corner
13) Mellowdrone- Fashionably Uninvited
14) Alaska!- The Western Shore
15) Nada Surf- Inside Of Love
16) The Blood Group- Borrowed Tune
17) As Tall As Lions- Break Blossom
18) Kimone- In The Warmth Of Meanings Redefined
19) Ilya- Disturbed
20) Charlie Hunter Quartet w/ Norah Jones- Day Is Done
21) Zwan- Heartsong

Thanks Finchy! |
